Another reason to keep moving an hour a day…

There’s a new obesity study being published this week. Researchers showed that when obese people lost 10% or more of their body weight through a highly restricted diet, they also experienced a slower metabolism and hormonal changes that persisted more than a year after the weight loss. “This study confirms convictions about why it is so hard to lose weight and keep it off, say obesity researchers who were not involved the study.”  But there seems to be one method to help keep the weight off.

Says another excellent article featured on today’s NPR – “But you can fight back against a lowered metabolism. You can “kick” your metabolism back up by exercising every day….It doesn’t have to be vigorous jogging. You can walk briskly, bike or swim. Health experts recommend 30 minutes of moderate physical activity a day in order to reduce risk for heart disease. But obesity experts say if you want to lose or maintain weight, you have to double that and exercise at least one hour every day.”

Moving your body just 1 hour per day reduces major health risks like diabetes and heart disease, plus it makes you feel great – why not start a path toward a better day TODAY?
