Doin’ it Barefoot

It used to be that going barefoot reflected your socioeconomic status; if you were barefoot, you presumably couldn’t afford shoes. But in today’s day and age, going barefoot means something else entirely. Yes, I’m talking about barefoot running. It’s the newest running craze. There’s a new industry of barefoot shoes that has sprung up seemingly overnight thanks to the success of Christopher McDougall’s book “Born to Run.”

With all the hype, and industry now devoted to the barefoot runner aficionados, McDougall points out in his latest New York Times article that though many are running barefoot, few have perfected it: the lost secret of perfect running.
